Tennoz Isle
Tennoz Isle is an island with an area of 200,000 square meters that was originally developed as a fort to protect the city of Edo near the end of the Edo Period, around the 1860s. Before the 1980s, the area was used by corporations for warehouses and distribution centers, before office buildings and other facilities were built. Tennoz has transformed itself from an industrial zone into a cultural hub.
Now, Tennoz Isle is known as an island of art, with a range of shops, restaurants, and office buildings along the canal. Bond Street is Tennoz’s photogenic warehouse district, with an art wall. Terrada Art Complex is a warehouse housing galleries that exhibit contemporary art.
